You’ve got a lot of cool tools living inside you waiting to impact audiences under the lights. Let’s reveal more of what brings your youness to the stage in this super supportive month-long risk-taking adventure.
If you’ve thought you were too quiet or not performative enough, I want to encourage you to take this class. We have a private session before class begins to make the class meet your specific needs and work through your particular brand of nerves and ish.
I work with stories from the more quiet folks to those dazzle like a disco ball. As people we need to hear and tell all kinds of stories, they are all meaningful.
All you need is a playground where taking chances and trying new things gives you breathing space for breakthroughs that make your stories and stage presence to truly sing.
During your private 1:1’s we can truly create so much progress through individualized support based off what aligns with your goals.
I created this smaller class size, plus one-on-one sessions, just for you. We’ll do challenging super fun exercises, you’ll receive direction along work with topnotch classmates to help you define and get where you want to go next.
We’ll get down to it with improv, varied storytelling formats, supportive performance exercises.
We’ll work on the one-mic-standing-still stage experience and explore the multidimensional topography of the stage. You’ll find a home at the mic with renewed physical, vocal, and narrative inspiration skills.

Who should take this??
People who’ve never told a story or even been on stage.
People who’ve told a story or twenty, but want more playground time to expand and find out more of what they have to bring to the experience.
Seasoned or first-time performers/storytellers, stand ups, speakers, poets, podcasters, musicians, interviewers, journalists, doctors, VO artists, actors, office Clown) who have felt an annoying unreachable itch that there is just something more they can click into to bring their work to a new place.
People who pitch to clients, VC’s, or baseball.
Hosts (podcasters, webinar leaders, emcees, band frontman) who know story structure, but want to find more ease with their words and truly connect with their audience.
Writers who have performance experience ( memoirists, poets, copywriters) looking to find new access to their lived experiences and imaginations.
Here’s everything that’s included in your class:
3 in-person classes.
3 private 1:1s
One prior to first class
One after the 2nd week.
Second before performance week.
There will be a two week break between class 2 and 3 to allow for the one on one and time to work your story.
Continue to talk about story structure and talk through how to come up with stories on the fly.
Showcase at Siren Theater for friends and family plus promoted to the BACKFENCE audience. I will host!
Here’s where my penchant for storytelling has led me:
An award-winning storyteller that has been a producer and host for The Moth.
Working with people across a variety disciplines for a variety of goals
Creator, Host, and Artistic Director of the award-winning storytelling series, BACKFENCE Storytelling
Coached and produced over 500personal stories for stage, screen, webinars, speaking events, print, retreats, interviews, conventions, and pitching sessions.
A published fiction and non-fiction writer.
Film fanatic, racket and jump roping-based athlete, skateboarding fan, and animal lover (especially cats and other people’s dogs)
Watching people light up when they begin working on their story, finding new pieces of their own puzzle is a total honor to witness. Being in the presence of people discovering how much meaning can be found in stories they have disregarded as uninteresting or boring… or rise up from the unconscious to say, “Hey, remember this!” is a true joy.
I can’t wait to discover yours
